About CompareStack
CompareStack is a free online platform for developers, analysts, QA engineers, legal reviewers, and operations teams who need fast, accurate comparison and formatting utilities in one place. We built comparestack.in to replace scattered bookmarklets and single-purpose desktop apps with a consistent experience for text diff, document review, SQL and JSON formatting, code snippet cleanup, and URL encoding.
Our mission
Productivity tools should be trustworthy, readable, and honest about limitations. Every CompareStack utility includes original instructions, use cases, FAQs, and links to in-depth blog guides—not generic placeholder text. We believe free tools can still respect privacy, explain how files are processed, and help users choose the right workflow for their file type.
What we offer today
Our tools run in the browser with server-side processing where uploads are required (PDF, Word, Excel). Each utility is documented on its own page with step-by-step guidance:
- Text compare — line and inline diff for configs, logs, drafts, and snippets
- PDF compare — text extraction and diff for contracts and reports
- Word compare — DOC/DOCX textual comparison
- Excel compare — row and value diff for spreadsheets
- SQL formatter — readable query layout for reviews

- Code formatter — indentation for docs and tickets
- URL encode/decode — percent-encoding for integrations
Editorial content and blog
The CompareStack blog publishes practical articles on text comparison discipline, SQL readability, JSON debugging, document workflows across PDF/Word/Excel, DevOps config diffs, and URL encoding in production. We add guides regularly so the site remains a learning resource—not only a collection of widgets.
Privacy, advertising, and data handling
We process uploads and pasted content only to return results for your session. We do not sell your inputs. CompareStack may display third-party advertisements, including Google AdSense, to support free access.
